1. The wear rate of grinding balls on the condition of wet grinding is more serious than dry grinding.
2. In the case of wet grinding, the steel balls are corroded when coming into contact with acidic or alkaline substances . Wear and corrosion work together, and the grinding of the materials destroy the passivation film, which accelerates the corrosion . As a result, the wear of the steel ball under wet grinding conditions is significantly higher than the superposition value of corrosion and wear alone.
3. The cast ball is less corrosion resistant than forged ball. Under the combined effect of wear and corrosion, the wear of casting ball will doubled increase. The final wear rate is the same or higher than forged ball, but the cost of cast ball is 100-300USD/ton higher than that of the forged ball
